Prof. José Luis Colomer is a professor of Jurisprudence, Department of Public Law and Legal Philosophy, School of Law, Autonomous University of Madrid. His research focuses on Law, Moral and Political Philosophy, etc.

本次讲座主要关注塑造现代欧洲最重要的观念：思想宽容。讲座将探讨宽容的概念、它在欧洲16-18世纪的发展史，以及它在20世纪被自由和平等观念替代后的式微。最后，讲座会介绍当代欧洲在面临现实各种多样化的背景下宽容问题的回归。
The lecture is about the idea of Toleration, one of the most important ideas in the shaping of modern Europe. It will examine the different elements in the concept of toleration, its classical history in 16th to 18th Century Europe, and its decline in the 20th Century Europe as it is replaced by the principles of liberty and equality. Finally the lecture will explain the return of issues of toleration at recent times as contemporary Europe must deal again with different religions, cultures and value systems living together.
