Ivan Pastine博士是都柏林大学院经济学院讲师。他的研究兴趣集中在国际宏观经济学、工业组织和公共经济学领域。
Dr. Ivan Pastine is lecturer of School of Economics, University College Dublin. His research mostly focuses on International Macroeconomics, Industrial Organization and Public Economics.

Introduction:
本次讲座是对二十世纪欧洲经济史的简要回顾。我们将尤其关注两个片段:一是30年代的货币战争,二是80年代和90年代重现的汇率改组。我们将在经济理论指导下探讨这两个片段是如何导致欧洲中央银行的创建以及德国对货币政策的超大影响。
The lecture is a very brief overview of 20th century European economic history. Two episodes in particular:
- The currency wars of the 1930s
- The recurring exchange rate realignments in the 80s and 90s will be examined in light of economic theory to show how they lead to the eventual creation of the European Central Bank and Germany’s outsized influence on monetary policy.
